This is a pack of 20 yellow 5mm round LEDs with a diffused lens and two leads, rated 2.0V–2.4V forward voltage at 20mA. The diffused lens spreads light evenly so the LED is visible from all sides. Each LED is 9mm tall with leads of 27mm and 26mm; the longer lead is positive.

Key Features

  • 20 yellow LEDs per pack
  • Forward voltage 2.0V–2.4V; operating current 20mA
  • Diffused lens for even, wide-angle glow
  • 5mm diameter, 9mm tall round bulb
  • 2 leads, 27mm and 26mm (longer lead is +)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a resistor?
Yes, unless your supply matches the LED's forward voltage. A series resistor limits current to a safe level (20mA or less); its value is (supply voltage − forward voltage) ÷ current.

Which leg is positive?
The longer lead is the positive (anode) lead; the shorter lead is negative (cathode).

What does a diffused lens do?
It scatters the light so the LED glows evenly and can be seen from wide angles, which suits indicator use better than a narrow, focused beam.

Applying too high a voltage without current limiting will damage the LED; use a current-limiting resistor when your supply voltage is higher than the LED's forward voltage.
