- Includes materials needed to perform the Acceleration of Freefall Experiment as explained in Lab 31 of the Conceptual Physics Lab Manual.
- The adjustable burette clamp attaches directly to the ring stand (not included), so a right angle clamp is no longer necessary for the setup.
- The upper nail has been replaced by a screw eye to standardize the start position of the steel bob for more consistent hits.
- Best results will be obtained if the meter stick swings perpendicularly. To ensure a good swing, adjust the screw eyes on the meter stick in or out so that it hangs straight, carefully align the dowel in the clamp, and make sure that the supporting nail is pushed firmly into the dowel.
- The steel bob can be used as a plumb to check these adjustments. Secure your ring stand to the bench or table top with a C-clamp or heavy weight. The setup needs to be as rigid as possible for best results. Now put on some background music (Swing is recommended) and let the fun begin.
